The Lisbon Service Jam is an annual event that takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of the Global Service Jam.  It is open to designers, developers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in service design and innovation. The aim is for participants to work in teams to create prototypes of new services or products that can be developed in the future.

Joana Baptista

My journey began in the area of graphic design, went through advertising agencies, specialized training in graphic design, and central roles in marketing departments of companies in Lisbon, particularly in the area of health and real estate.

Driven by an interest in design thinking, my focus was on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. The challenge of deeply understanding business goals and having empathy for users’ needs has become fundamental in my quest to develop tools that guarantee the success of each project.

I am a passionate researcher and service designer with an unwavering dedication to understanding people. My work transcends pixels and code it’s about creating meaningful and lasting connections between users and products or services. Fascinated by the complexities of human behavior, I am committed to discovering the context, needs, desires, and motivations of individuals.

With a user-centered approach at the heart of my design philosophy, my goal is to transform insights into inclusive, intuitive, and impactful experiences. I believe in the power of empathy to drive design that truly resonates and makes a difference. Driven by curiosity and exploration, I work to create solutions that not only fulfill users’ needs but also solve their problems.

The deepest insights emerge when we truly listen and carefully observe, as every customer’s story holds the key to designing empathic solutions that help customers achieve their goals, making their lives easier. My approach synthesizes the voice of the user, the voice of the market, and the voice of the business, to create solutions that satisfy customer needs, align with market trends, and drive business success.
